Program Manager Earns Certification

(Jan 2012) – Kevin Tilley, program manager with Hudson Technologies, was named a certified quality process analyst.

The designation acknowledges excellence by professionals who, in support of and under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors, analyze and solve quality problems and are involved in quality improvement projects.

The professional certification program is administered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ). “This certification provides formal recognition to professionals who have demonstrated an understanding of, and commitment to, quality techniques and practices in their job and career,” explains Jim Rooney, ASQ chair.

“This is a great accomplishment and represents a high level of peer recognition.” As program manager, Tilley directs and coordinates the New Products team at Hudson Technologies, ensuring all new programs meet quality, cost, delivery and hardware performance specifications. Tilley resides in Ormond Beach and has been with Hudson Technologies for two years.

ASQ, established in 1946, has been the sole administrator of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program Award since 1991. With members in 150 countries, it is headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, with national service centers in China, India and Mexico. More information is available at www.asq.org.

Hudson Technologies Receives ISO 14001:2004 Certification

(Nov 2011) – Hudson Technologies’ environmental management system received ISO14001:2004 certification.

Hudson Technologies quality management system also holds ISO 9001:2008 and 13485:2003 certifications. All three ISO certifications, registered by Orion Registrar, Inc., are effective through October 2014.

The ISO 14001:2004 standard is an internationally recognized framework that requires a company to demonstrate a commitment to compliance with applicable environmental legislation and requirements, and a commitment to continual improvement. According to the International Organization for Standards, ISO 14001:2004 certification helps assure employees, customers, suppliers, the community and regulatory agencies that the company is an environmentally responsible organization.

President Mark Andrews said, “This certification is the culmination of our efforts to become an environmentally sound company, efforts that began several years ago when we completely eliminated the use of chlorinated lubricants and solvents. We are very proud of the fact that our manufacturing process produces no hazardous waste.”

Hudson Technologies manufactures deep drawn, or seamless, metal cases for a variety of industries. Deep drawn cases, also called stampings, are used to enclose technology in components for aerospace, automotive, aviation, commercial battery, implantable medical devices, relay switch cases, capacitors, flow control, irrigation, semi-conductor manufacturing and other applications worldwide. Founded in 1940, Hudson Technologies has over 200 employees and is a business of JSJ Corporation of Grand Haven, MI.

Hudson Technologies Tops Volusia Manufacturers Association Awards in 2009
- Director of Supply Chain Managment Roy Braddy named Member of the Year -
- Wellness and Go Green Best Practice Awards -

(October 5, 2009) - Three awards will be presented to Hudson Technologies by the Volusia Manufacturers Association (VMA) at the group's 29th Annual Awards Banquet on October 22 in Daytona Beach, Florida - two Best Practices awards and Member of the Year.

This year for the first time there will be two Best Practices awards in new categories. Hudson Technologies is the winner of Best Practices for Going Green, completing a two-year, $2 million conversion of its 115,000 square-foot facility, promoting an environmentally-sound, aqueous cleaning system. Hudson Technologies converted to greener lubricants as part of its new cleaning operation. No hazardous waste is produced by its manufacturing process.

Jayne Fifer, President/CEO of the VMA said, “Hudson Technologies worked hard to eliminate trichloroethylene which is an ozone depleting solvent, making strides to make their work environment safe for their employees, to make the community cleaner, and overall to make a better impact for our world.”

The second Best Practices award goes to Hudson Technologies for its Wellness Program. Hudson Technologies identified the need and benefits for wellness for its 200 employees and worked hard to implement incentives to promote wellness. "Hudson Technologies was committed to implementation and reviews their policy for effectiveness of process measures and outcome measures," said Fifer. "VMA recognizes Hudson Technologies for ensuring that they not only make great product, but that they keep their employees healthy, too."

The Member of the Year award is presented to the VMA Member who has contributed the most to the growth of the VMA and manufacturing in general in Volusia and Flagler counties. The 2009 winner of the VMA Karl Schiller Member of the Year Award is Roy Braddy of Hudson Technologies. Braddy is a VMA Board Member, heading the Materials Division. In this role he brought in speakers to discuss current inventory and purchasing topics or issues and regulations to give the members a forum to expand their knowledge and to help the members support each other.

"It was his dream to develop the Materials Division, and he has worked relentlessly to build it into the viable group it is now, by supporting with increased programming for the materials, purchasing, buyers/planners and order placer members," said Fifer. Click here for the entire VMA news release
