Responsible for first line support of computer hardware, software and network related issues; maintenance and repair of all company computer hardware, software, peripherals, and cabling; training users in software and handling software archiving, and various administrative activities.

Essential Responsibilities

Positively represent the company, the IT Services team, and the applications and service they support.

Provide assistance and technical support – Primary technical support role for business-specific information systems, such as ERP, ECM and CRM systems. Secondary technical support role assisting the JSJ Client Services team in supporting the non-business-specific IT systems and shared services for our businesses. Interviews user to determine source of specific error and recommend solution. This may involve talking to help lines and tech support centers to get answers. This position will be expected to provide a high level of support and customer service.

Project work – Will work on various projects which may include managing projects individually and participating on project teams to accomplish project objectives. Will be responsible for completing specific projects and objectives within specific timelines.

Maintain Company PC’s and peripherals, to include hardware and software installations and upgrades; configuring and assuring availability of printers and other peripheral devices; and working with service providers as necessary. Performs any software/hardware/PC/fax machine/copier/desk phone deployments and upgrades that are not supported by the JSJ Client Services team; Works with, and increases proficiency in, all essential software tools – including Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Office products, and any other software and systems used by the company.

Maintain department inventory of data processing supplies such as computers, monitors, accessories, etc.

Assist in managing departmental costs by tracking accounts and monitoring expenditures to stay within current operating budget performance requirements.

Assists in the formulation of procedures and best practices for users of applications.

Maintain Company database accuracy, security and efficiency through various system audits, and routine maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis following process procedures.

Participates as a member of the information technology team: Participates in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of new IT programs and policies. Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends team meetings. Assists other staff as assigned.

Participates in continuous improvement processes.

  • Participates in continuous improvement processes individually and with teams, and champions projects to improve cost, quality, and delivery.

Participates as a member of the Maintenance Team.

  • Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
  • Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.
  • Attends appropriate team meetings.
  • As a member of the Maintenance Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
  • Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues affecting cohesiveness.
  • Actively looks for ways and reinforce actions needed, in order to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Educational RequirementsExperience Requirements

Required education: Associates degree in Computer Science or related technical field, coupled with continuing education through seminars and certifications.

Preferred formal education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Technical Experience: At least 1 year related experience preferred, to include; Intel-based computer hardware, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows Network Operating Systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or any combination of experience and training which provides at least the required education and technical experience.

Industry Experience: Working experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, but not required.
